I love the Holiday Season!

Hello Hello! Yes, I know it has been a while, yet again. It's been 2 weeks if anyone is counting ;) I have been a combination of busy and lazy, I will be honest! Anyways, I'm sorry to those that read my blog on a regular basis :)

Moving on! I am so very happy that the holidays are here! Even though I do love my job, I am quite excited that I have 2 weeks off. It gives me time to refresh, relax, and spend some much needed time with family, friends and my love. I really do love the holidays and I wanted to share the many reasons why I do! Here goes...

Spending quality time with family and friends. The holidays always give me time to spend a lot of time (more time than usual) with family and friends. It's always nice catch up with my friends and have some great conversations and fun of course. I love also seeing my family. We always have a great time together because we all love to laugh and be silly. I love my family dearly and I'm so grateful to spend the holidays with them.
Holiday food. Who can't resist all the delicious treats and comfort food that the holiday brings?! I particularly love my mom's Jewish cooking - latkes, matzo ball soup, turkey, stuffing...*drool*. I also enjoy yummy holiday treats - sugar, shortbread and gingerbread cookies, pies...and so much more!! I really enjoy making decorated sugar cookies for my friends as well, it's so much fun.

Holiday activities. There always seems to be plenty of fun activities to do around the holidays. There's lots of places to ice skate - I went to Robson Square in Downtown Vancouver with some friends yesterday and it was lots of fun! Checking out the beautiful lights at the VanDusen Gardens Festival of Lights. Walking around the city and checking out all the decorations and lights. Watching Christmas performances. There's always lots to do!

Watching holiday movies. I really enjoy watching all the different Christmas/holiday movies. I always seem to watch the ones that I have seen many times - National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, A Christmas Carol, Bad Santa, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas... I could go on! It's also a bonus when you have a nice fire burning while watching movies (and I do have a wood burning fire, yay!)

Giving to those I love. I always have enjoyed buying gifts for those I love. My favourite part is seeing their reactions when they open their gift, it makes me feel all warm inside :) I actually prefer giving more than receiving as corny as that may sound.

Smiling faces. Everyone seems to be a little bit happier around this time of year. I of course wish this happy mood would last all year but that's ok :) I love seeing all the smiling faces and I do believe that smiling is contagious. It makes me feel good when others are happy, especially those that I am close to.

I can of course list more but those were the main reasons why I love the holidays :)

I'll sign off by saying Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, Hanukkah and New Year to all my blog readers, family and friends!!
